FAQ's

It is normal to have questions about counselling. Here are some answers to some of the questions we get asked.

General

Will I see the same counsellor each week?

Yes. Once you have been assigned a counsellor, they will be with you throughout your journey. Consistency is key to building a trusting relationship, and having the same counsellor each week allows for a deeper understanding of your needs and goals. You can feel confident knowing that support is always there for you.

Will my Appointments be face to face or online?

This is your choice. We have a number of counsellors ready to support you via online, face to face or Telephone at a time and day that best suits you.

What qualifications will my counsellor have?

All of our counsellors are qualified general therapists or working towards qualification and are at the stage in their training where they have been deemed competent to begin working with clients within clinical practice.  All counsellors meet a mandatory requirement for clinical supervision each month to ensure they are working ethically and within their competencies.

If I see a counsellor in training will I receive the same service as a qualified counsellor?

It's widely thought that a therapist in training might not be as effective as a fully qualified therapist. Although fully qualified therapists do have more experience, there are numerous advantages to working with a therapist in training. For example a counsellor in training will be learning from the most up to date research and theories as part of their training.
